This will enable the classes to complete more of their projects. Some class periods are finishing up the water activity stations. This in class assignment will be for a grade.
The students will be creating physical, political, or a mixture of the two maps using card board, glue, and tin foil. They may come home messy from school on these days (evidence of learning). I hope they enjoy this project and use this time to explore the physical features even more. We noticed that many of the students did not retain the names of the physical features after the assessment. We hope that this hands on project will help them to connect with the information. Please send in the following: -glue sticks - texture items (cotton balls, felt, pipe cleaners, sand, string, rocks, etc.) -glue - paint - additional crafting items In addition to the tin foil maps, we will hopefully have time to complete an opening bracelet activity with a stone from Africa. The students will view a brief video about a man in West Africa who locates and sells very unique beads. After this video we will learn more about the cultural geography of Africa. Thank you! Please check student agendas each evening. If you sign the agenda, then they can earn extra cool cat points for exemplifying the trait of being READY.
